20ga

Postby Fishh2o » Thu Sep 01, 2016 1:32 pm

Okay guys Im looking for a good 20ga 2 3/4 inch load. This load will either end up just shooting #3s or it could be duplexed #3s X 9.5 tss. Looking through all the reloading manuals and data from everyone we really don't have a large selection. What are you guys shooting and are you happy with it? If anyone has some loads that have not been tested but need to i would like to hear from you too. I might end up trying to develop a 1 oz load if possible if not i guess i will just stick to 3/4 to 7/8 oz load is all we can get.

Come on Dave have you gotten yours tested yet? :D

Roll with it. If you stay above 55 the wheel wont fall off.

Haven't been here for a while ;)
Just checked UPS, my 20ga steel loads arrive at Precision tomorrow. I left a message for Kieth there today and will call tomorrow.
5 different loads, all steel:
1oz 3" Sam1 w/ fold
400gr 3" cheddite hull, CSD20
7/8oz 3" cheddite hull, CSD20
7/8oz 2.75" Fiocchi hull, CCI209M, csd20
7/8oz 2.75" Fed TopGun Hull, Win209, CSD20

I really liked the 2.75" loads, if they test OK, because no spacers-- easy loads.
I also liked the 400gr 3" load, because again no spacers in the wad-- but you DO need a spacer below the wad to use up that 3" hull space.

Not sure if or how I'll post any results, been getting conflicting advice on that.
