Youth Duck and Goose

What’s everyone favorite .410 or even 28gauge load for youth hunters (open/even pattern) with TSS, HW13/15, or even bismuth? I have plenty loaded, but I’m a little bored with a few weeks before the youth opener. I just got some tss 7’s and 9’s to load with. So far I’ve duplexed some B steel and 7’s for the 12. I’m on the fence if I want to go straight tss options in .410 or stick to HW13/15. Pellet count on the HW15 is higher with great ballistics.

BPI just put out some new loads of the week for 3” .410. I’m interested in their BPX tungsten alloy as well.

Doug,
If bpx is really 12g/cc,it will be same as hw13 from rsi, which I've measured at 11.99 6s and 12.00 for 4s.
My fav youth load is the 28ga 1oz. Can't recall if original is itx13 or HS. Probably itx. 24.5gr lilgun? Like 1260fps or such. Perfect fit.
190 pellets #6 for ducks, 114 #4 for geese.

I like that hw15 7s for the 410, looks like the "highest and best" use of hw15 7s to me.

I was looking through my notes with Hv28 wads and TPS. I loaded up some hw15 6’s and 3steel duplexed in the tps wad, Lil Gun powder. That tristar and Comp n choke mod patterns nicely. I’ll make up some steel loads, or dig them out of the safe and shoot some patterns with that combination as well.

My favorite youth load is BPI load #N10788. It is a 3/4 oz TSS load 18 g/cc in the 28 Ga platform. Very light recoil and patterns great with a cylinder choke. Gives great pellet counts and allows for some error in shooting with younger shooters.

The load calls for buffer but that is not necessary. It takes two of the 410 fiber card wads. Good luck!
