10ga. TSS loads for waterfowl

Postby Ohio_Waterfowler » Mon Jan 08, 2018 3:54 pm

I'm looking for some data to load pure TSS in 10ga. loads for geese. Been putting 1/4 - 1/2 oz #7 tss in my 1 1/2oz loads of BBB steel subbing the TSS by weight for steel shot . Would love to try a pure TSS load but not sure exactly where to start and maybe even load some turkey shells with smaller than #7 shot.

Well this should be interesting! ;)

I'm already thinking there's too much space to fill up in the 28ga when making a TSS goose load, and hate putting all those spacers in there... certainly 20ga 2.75 is too large for me, leading me to look for PT2090 wads with the smallest shot volume available.

What would this be, a snow goose "flock shooter" type of load? Someone somewhere posted about that, can't remember if it was here or not?

Sounds like it could be possible to load up something equivalent to the old "punt" guns/flock shooters.

What does a 10ga normally shoot in lead shot? 1 1/2oz 1 3/4oz?

Ok...editing...looked on interweb..

Hevi shot has a load of 2 3/8oz of HW-13 that I'm seeing.... So you could maybe come up with 555 #7s....

that would be kinda like shooting a 7 barrell 10ga loaded with T shot all at the same time...
