Loading 410

Postby Caseyc » Sat Sep 11, 2021 2:46 pm

I’m interested in loading some tungsten 410 for my son. I have seen him hit ducks with his gun but they don’t fall. I would like to be able to use once fired shells. Who is this Hal and does he have a website?

Of note, BPI just pubbed 3 recipes for 410 HW shot on LOTW, look decent. Good datapoints.

I see the 28gauge load data, I didn’t see any new .410 HW. I’m assuming all 3” Hulls?

I'm confused as to why BPI always forces buffer into their smallbore TSS loads. I have emailed with them about it and they say its simply for better patterning, but I have never had an issue with a solely TSS load patterning poorly. I can understand it in smallbore turkey loads where every pellet is crucial, but I don't understand why they always put it in their other loads. Marketing?

Thanks Dave! I agree, why buffer? And I’ve called a few times about their Max410 wads, no answers, it would be nice to see load data with that and the 12/13/15/18 density shot. And the more I dig, it seems more are looking for 2.5” options. Gives me confidence that the 2.5” with the H110 and 0.5oz payload I’ve been making up and shooting will be within pressures
