Re: new loads to the lab this summer
The 7/8 oz .410 turkey load is ready for action. I hope to have patterns to show soon, but for those who like the 370NM load, this one will be more of a good thing. It clocks in at 1011 fps and under 10k psi. It's suitable for #9-1/2 and #10 shot.
Got a series of new 20 ga loads in the 1-5/8 oz, 1-3/4 oz, 1-7/8 oz and 2 oz ready also. Using newly available wads on a couple of them, and introducing 1-3/4 oz and 1-7/8 oz loads in 2-3/4" hulls. Those will be ideal for those with 3" chambered guns that have low tolerance for the extra length of roll crimped shells, and for 2-3/4" chambered guns like my newly acquired Stevens 220A single. If the weather cooperates, I hope to have some patterns with the old Stevens full choke to show by Tuesday of next week. Some of them are using new wads which I'm still trying to figure out...
Here's the MV/peak chamber pressure for the twenty gauge loads:
2-3/4" 1-5/8 oz - 1078 fps, 11448 psi
2-3/4" 1-3/4 oz - 1181 fps, 10182 psi
2-3/4" 1-7/8 oz - 1146 fps, 11548 psi
3" 1-7/8 oz - 1096 fps, 9463 psi
3" 2 oz - 1132 fps, 12023 psi
Also have another 2 oz 3" 12 ga load that is easier to load than most others, at 1228 fps and 10252 psi.

Re: new loads to the lab this summer
Got to try out the new loads in my Stevens today.
40 yds, 10" and 20" circles
2-3/4" 1-5/8 oz - 1078 fps, 11448 psi

2-3/4" 1-3/4 oz - 1181 fps, 10182 psi

2-3/4" 1-7/8 oz - 1146 fps, 11548 psi

I was pretty pleased with how the fixed full choke shoots them, though I'm certain I'll be seeing some more impressive numbers with proper turkey chokes.
