12 gauge duplex load
I really enjoy jump shooting waterfowl, mostly ducks but there is always a chance for geese on small blm ponds while hunting pheasant and sharptail grouse. Shots are usually farther as the birds are always pretty spooky, 35 yards plus, and im wanting to ask for ideas on shot sizes to duplex together, steel and tss, that might give me good density and knockdown power. I would do all tss shot loads but i couldnt afford that so looking for a way to stretch the tss shot out into more shells

Re: 12 gauge duplex load
I just patterned #2 steel with HW15 #6’s
1.125 oz load in a 12 gauge. Averaged 1415fps. I still have to get the counts and %.
This load is intended to be as effective as bismuth at 40yards and cost a bit less to make.
Hw15 for me is about $23/pound
You have some options too for cost is tss is the concern.
I shot federal 3steel/9tss this past year And didn’t notice much difference compared to straight steel or bismuth 4’s.
