Side by Side
I have been thinking about picking up a decent sXs. As a kid i killed more dove and quail with a Stevens 311 .410 than i have ducks with my a400. So Ive been thinking about picking up a 20ga. Do you guys have any suggestions and if so what do you like about it.
Roll with it. If you stay above 55 the wheel wont fall off.

I like old guns the best. Seen a Lefever SXS 20ga at a show recently. Sort of wish I had purchased it but I need another 20 like I need another hole in my head. I'm pretty sure it was full and full. I do have a Lefever SXS nitro special .410 circa 1920's from my dad that I shot my 1st grouse, rabbit and pheasant with.--Bill

Re: Side by Side
Gotta kick this old thread to the top. Doubles are my all-time favorite. (I bought my first house years ago by selling my L.C. Smith collection.) Anyway, here's what I did for my waterfowling double twenty. I bought new a BSS-20 many years ago. I sent the barrels to Briley who installed flush screw-ins made from their hard steel stock. I shoot both barrels Light Modified.
There are still some pretty good condition BSS-20s available on the market. I know this is an old thread but this is what I would have recommended.

I bought this nice little side by side 20 gauge for about US$750 a few years back. They are made in Turkey. They sell in the USA under the name Dickinson. To be honest I love shooting this gun and for snap shooting the 26" is perfect for me. It has 1/4 and 1/2 chokes. I've used BBs and smaller steel through it and so far so good. At some point I'll put some TSS through it
