Hello, it looks like we are getting a few more members from the other side of the pond. Maybe there will be enough members for a subsection for the people that shoot 8 and 4 gauge (like the guy yesterday). I wonder what the range for an 8 ga with #6 TSS would be? Probably 150-175 yds if the pattern density was there.

Fandango & I are buddies and shoot the same areas for wildfowl here in the UK ( Solway Firth). Yes a number of guys here use 8 & 4 bore with loads to 4oz, these are generally pretty old guns, the ranges can be extreme! I agree, it would be interesting to see a ‘big 4’ or 8 perform with TSS. if I know Fandango, He will definitely be giving it a go!!! :D

Welcome ;)
I'd love to see an 8 or 4 ga, but wouldn't want to shoot one!
I lived in Suffolk for 3 years, while there I did see a 24ga and a 32ga. My buddy across the street from me with a farm and I used his 16ga guns mostly though.
Mostly I was shooting stuff with the GAU-8 30mm cannon at the time though, up and down the east coast beaches heh...

Welcome guys.

I have a question. In what terms of gauge would you have to....to be considered a "punt" gun?

I've heard of 8 and 4 gauges...never really thought anything larger than 8ga would be "shootable" while shouldered.
